Lesley Immink for Whakatāne Mayor

Kia ora!

My name is Lesley Immink. My principal place of residence is the Whakatāne District and I am standing for the Whakatāne-Ohope Ward. 

I am married with adult children and am of European and Māori descent through Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Apa and Ngāti Porou whanau. 

I’ve served on numerous committees and boards at local/national level and am currently Chair of Te Aka Toitū and Central Bay Hockey Trusts. I have a proven record of corporate leadership and performance in the tourism/education sectors with skills in strategic business planning, product development, marketing, governance and organizational change. Skills I believe are necessary to lead our community.  

Whakatāne needs a new leader who has energy and courage. As your Mayor I commit to building a community that is economically and culturally strong, vibrant and diverse – a District with a bright future we can all proudly call home.
