Layla was rescued in June 2025 - found dragging her injured body along the concrete road with maggots infesting her wounds.  She had likely been hit by a car or motorbike, causing permanent paralysis in her hind legs.

Since then, Layla has grown into the most beautiful little lady; however, recently she has been experiencing pain. As Layla has grown, her hind legs have become stiff, and the bones have begun to fuse together. Because of this, she is unable to use a wheelchair, as her hind legs drag along the floor and do not fit comfortably. This is, in turn, causing a lot of pressure on her spine.

After speaking to both the wheelchair company and a specialist orthopedic surgeon, they have agreed that the best solution for Layla is to amputate her hind legs, relieving her of this dead weight and allowing her to use the wheelchair that she so desperately needs.

With a wheelchair, Layla will be able to fully enjoy walks and playtime without pressure on her poor spine. We really need your help, as the amputation surgery, aftercare in hospitalisation, and the custom wheelchair add up to a large sum of money... we really can't do this without you!

Please consider donating towards Layla and helping her on her journey to a pain-free, happy life!
