Learning history is important to our future and should be free and accessible. Mama's Attic needs your support. Mama’s Attic Center of African American Culture and Humanities provides carefully researched exhibits that are curated around a historical theme.
Mama’s Attic was formed as a continuation of ReConnect, Inc.’s community betterment initiative in response to efforts to improve race relations, address misinformation surrounding critical race theory debates, and to provide a perspective of America’s history by telling it through the experiences of famous and every day Black American experiences and their contributions to this Country from their first arrival as explorers, not enslaved people, to present day.
Thoroughly researched exhibits are curated to provide a complete story rather than focusing on relics and artifacts. Exhibits reflecting the Black American experiences are changed every three months.
The goal of Mama’s Attic fundraiser is to:
- Continue to teach history and the humanities through the Black American experience using a variety of resources and platforms
- Provide free admission so costs will never be a barrier to visiting and learning
- Assist with operating costs for the next two years such as rent, curated exhibits, marketing materials, and special events
Thank you in advance for your help!
