About Bri's Start as a Solopreneur

In July 2024, I made the difficult and exciting decision to quit my full-time job and pursue a career as an independent fundraising consultant.

As I struggled with fear, imposter syndrome, and guilt, I also realized that I had nowhere that I could go for education about how to be my own consultant.

How was I supposed to find clients?

How much should I charge those clients?

Those types of questions kept me up at night.

However, I was lucky enough to have a close friend who was also pursuing her own consulting practice and was able to offer advice and guidance.

During that time, I also met Kamilah Martin, the Founder and visionary of Katalyst and KatalystEDU.

Kamilah provided me with actionable next steps to grow my consulting practice as well as introducing me to the Katalyst Mastermind Community, a safe space for Black women and women of color consultants building thriving businesses.

Through my Katalyst membership, I have:

- Secured new client contracts and grown my consulting practice to a six-figure business in two years

- Partnered with fellow Katalystas on contracts

- Learned of aligned business development opportunities to continue positioning my business for growth

Today, I am excited to be in a place where I can support the Katalyst ecosystem's newest initiative, KatalystEDU.

About KatalystEDU

Soon to launch, KatalystEDU is a learning and business growth platform designed for mission-driven consultants who are building independent, sustainable businesses.

Each course is led by consultants who have built successful ventures and are now excited to pass on their knowledge to consultants.

The first three pilot episodes that will launch are:

1. From Podcast to Platform: Using Your Show to Build Influence, Authority, and Opportunity

2. Securing the Contract: Executive Presence and Authenticity as a Strategic Relationship Tool

3. Earning the Yes: Turning Initial Conversations into Aligned Clients

If you're excited for this launch, interested in supporting consultants, and/or excited to support me, please consider making a contribution.

Thank you so much!

Warmly,

Bri
