Lillie Haneghan (they/them) is a young Black, Trans worker and union organizer who was unjustly fired by Starbucks on March 30, 2023. Lillie is a shift-supervisor at the Chicago Greektown (Halsted & Monroe) location who has been working with the company for 5 years. They have been instrumental in creating a welcoming, caring environment for the community and have been an ardent union supporter for our store's organizing campaign with Starbucks Workers United.
On March 30, Lesley Davis, the corporation's District Manager, fired Lillie for a satirical post on their personal social media account, critical of ex-CEO Howard Schultz's anti-Trans, anti-worker testimony during the Senate HELP Committee. As we file an unfair labor practice (ULP) charge against the company, we ask our community to please donate and share as you are able. The NLRB process is slow, and we need to show up for Lillie and send a message that workers will not be intimidated. Solidarity now and forever!
They can fire a union organizer, but they can't fire a UNION!
