Josiah has been selected to participate in the prestigious New Balance Future Stars Series National Combine in Nashville, TN. He needs your help to make this dream a reality. The players are not charged a fee to participate but instead get the opportunity to raise funds for Future Stars Series Foundation and No Kid Hungry. The players have a chance to earn stipends towards their expenses just by helping raise money for these great causes.
Meet Josiah: Josiah Rodriguez is from South San Francisco, California. He attends Serra High School in San Mateo, CA and plays for GamePrep Baseball Academy. He is the oldest brother in a family of four, including his younger brother Frankie, mom Kellie, and stepdad Mike, who was his first baseball coach! Josiah loves baseball, and believes in working hard, on the field, in the classroom, and in the weight room so he can play as long as possible.
Josiah shares his favorite baseball memory: "My favorite baseball memory is hitting a walk-off home run to beat St Francis my junior year and rounding third to celebrate with my teammates at home plate. I thought about listing a more team-oriented story, but one of my teammates said it was a top 5 moment of his life, so I think it counts."
Josiah also shares what attending the NBFSS National Combine means to him: "Attending this event is a big deal for me. It means hard work has benefits. It means I have the opportunity to measure myself against some of the best at my age in the US. And last but not least, it means I can help people through the Future Stars Series Foundation, something I didn't expect from baseball."
The New Balance Future Stars Series is not just about discovering and developing the MLB Heros of tomorrow. It’s about discovering and developing the leaders of tomorrow by creating real opportunities where they don’t exist today: opportunities for education, opportunities to give back to their community… opportunities for a future. We are incredibly grateful that Josiah Rodriguez is a part of this chapter in our mission to CHANGE THE GAME!
Up to 20% of all net proceeds will be donated to Future Stars Series Foundation and No Kid Hungry.
