The liability hearing

Thanks to your generosity, when Jeremy attended his two-day hearing last week barrister David Mitchell was there to argue his case and to put WMT’s witness to proof in his evidence. As we expected, Jeremy was a strong witness and gave honest and open evidence. Judgment is reserved.

Thanks again for your kind support.

A message from Jeremy

Hello all – a message from Jeremy:

I would like to thank everyone, both those in the Free Speech Union and not, who have dug into their pockets to help a complete stranger to stand up for freedom of speech and the right of an employee to state what sort of Society he does or doesn't wish to live in. We must all be free to critique any belief, whether it is political, philosophical, or religious. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.

Target met!

Thanks to your extraordinary generosity, we have met our target in under three days. We are confident Jeremy's legal expenses are now covered, though we will of course check with his legal team. As so many people are keen to donate, we are leaving this crowdfunder open – please note further donations will go to the Free Speech Union's war-chest for helping other members stand up for their rights in the courts.
