Help Jayne and Stephen buy, drive, and deliver an evacuation vehicle to Ukraine 🇺🇦
In May 2025, proud Kiwis Jayne and Stephen Gale will drive 1,318 miles over 3 days across Europe to deliver an evacuation vehicle destined for work on the Ukrainian frontlines.
Jayne and Stephen have put their hands up to support the Driving Ukraine team and make the delivery happen, and they now need your support to buy, drive, and deliver this vehicle. They will be joined by morale officer Ben Francis, on his third trip to Ukraine to deliver another evacuation vehicle to a team of medics who urgently require it.
"We've supported Ukraine for 3 years from afar, but now we feel called to go. Social media is filled with cries for help. So many bad things happening in the world - its time not to give up but to step up and do what we can. We want to show Ukraine we care." - Jayne and Stephen

Driving Ukraine vehicles, 4x4 pickup trucks and ambulances, are purchased in the UK and modified by dedicated volunteers, before being placed with essential teams in Ukraine including: ambulance crews, 4x4 evacuation teams, first-aid responders, international volunteer medics, humanitarian bomb disposal units, hospitals, among others.
The urgent need for international support in Ukraine is undeniable, particularly today even as some sort of peace is discussed. The longer this invasion persists, the more challenging it becomes for Ukraine. The war is now entering its fourth year. The future of Ukraine’s survival hangs in the balance with new international leaders in power. The Ukrainians need more vehicles, aid, and international support from volunteers than ever before.
The toll of this conflict is staggering, with tens of thousands of civilians killed, countless more injured, and hundreds of billions of dollars in infrastructure damage. 4,000,000 Ukrainians have lost their homes, 10,000 missiles have been launched at the country, and over 1,000 medical facilities have been destroyed.
We request your support in raising £5,000 and beyond to purchase and transport a 4x4 vehicle.
Funds raised beyond this will buy a drone jamming device to prevent the vehicle being destroyed by FPV drones. More details below.
Vehicles are destroyed by the harsh war-torn conditions, further exacerbated by the cold winter which Ukraine is emerging from. Vehicles are destroyed by the enemy: bullets, artillery, shrapnel are key causes, but drones are the largest threat.
An example “EW” Electronic Warfare drone jamming system is below. Specifically the ‘Amulet 7M’.
This technology is made by volunteers in Lviv and seeks to block a range of frequencies which drones rely on to fly.
Kamikaze drones aiming for our vehicles are stopped 180 metres away: depending on the settings they are forced to either lose connection and fall from the sky, emergency land, or return to ‘home’, all of which prevent destruction to the vehicle, and protect the lives of the driver, the passengers, and any wounded soldiers the vehicle is carrying.
