Hey Seminary Support Circle!
I have put together a budget combining projected expenses for the January intensive term and the Spring semester! With these funds raised I would be able to take 2 classes.
The first class, and the first seminary experience, would be a one-week January intensive live and in-person in Hamilton, MA! The class is called Spiritual Formation for Ministry and is being taught by Steve Macchia. Steve is the President of Leadership Transformations, the Director of the Pierce Center for Disciple-Building, and an Adjunct Professor at Gordon-Conwell. This fundraising budget would allow me to travel to MA for the one-week course, meet Steve, and engage with fellow students in the Spiritual Formation degree. I'm hopeful to be able to do this as a christening of sorts–marking the beginning of this journey.
The second class on deck is Exploring the Old Testament taught by Quonekuia Day. I am thrilled to take OT survey from Ms. Day. Looking over her syllabus for this class, I see that she incorporates insights by Black, Asian, Latino and/or Native American authors–an opportunity to broaden my perspective on OT interpretation.
As a summary, $2,040 will cover projected costs for:
- Spring Partnership Program participation fee
- Spring Semester Admin fees
- January Intensive Travel
- January & Spring Books
- Support Circle Web & Newsletter Expenses
Any funds raised over the goal amount (or unused) will be set aside for the next term. Budget records will be kept and can be requested by anyone in the Support Circle.
