The Jack Gibson Sarcoma Patient and Family Support Program has been established by CRBF, a registered Australian Charity with Deductible Gift Recipient Status. The mission of Jack’s program is to improve the experience of sarcoma patients & families in Australia – a cause close to Jack’s heart. In particular, Jack wanted to support the most vulnerable sarcoma patients – e.g., those in regional and remote communities with added barriers to care and support
The Program has two core activities, firstly to raise funds for patients and families in need, and secondly to raise awareness of Sarcoma, a rare cancer not well known or understood, and in so doing improve early detection, diagnosis and hence survival and care options for sufferers.
Donations made to Jack’s program will go to providing immediate financial relief for sarcoma patients and their families, to support critical needs such as but not limited to:
Transport, accommodation food and carer expenses
Assistance for pain relief, dietary needs, disability and specialised equipment costs, ancillary treatments, physiotherapy, psychology, rehabilitation, pathology, surgery, additional consultations
Assistance with palliative care and funeral expenses
The Program forms part of the Cooper Rice-Brading Foundation, and is subject to strict governance - more details of which can be found on crbf.org.au
