It's in part to enjoy each other's company and in part to raise money for a really great cause that I support: improving access to education and English language for kids from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds (including displaced Afghans and Ukrainians).

Jacari is a small but impactful charity that provides bespoke tuition and extracurricular activities to over 200 young refugee, asylum-seeker and migrant pupils in Bristol and Oxford. Our volunteer tutors are mostly university students who visit a pupil in their home or school every week during term-time for fun, informal tutoring sessions which focus on building the child's confidence and language skills. 

Many of our former volunteers tell us about the delicious food their pupil's family gave them when they tutored them at home so we thought that recreating some of those dishes would be a fun way to raise funds for Jacari!
