It Matters

We did it! Thanks to our incredible community's generosity, we've hit our initial goal of $20,000 - a heartfelt thank you to all!

On behalf of Northwest Kidney Kids (NWKK) Board of Directors, I want to thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to its mission. The organization prioritizes programming to empower children with kidney conditions towards lifelong success.

Camp for youth and families, mentoring, home BP machines, year-round get-togethers, young Ambassadors, the community event “Strut-your Kidney,” encompass how NWKK supports this essential mission.

This fall NWKK embarks on the It Matters campaign. You are receiving this letter because we are grateful for your past support and your grasp of the core values. The goal of It Matters is to celebrate the organization’s success by highlighting its mission while appealing to you and the community to solidify the organization’s financial foundation.

It Matters because NWKK employs adult leaders with lived experiences of kidney conditions.

It Matters because children with kidney disorders reflect positively on the NWKK community.

It Matters because parents are heard and welcomed into the NWKK community.

It Matters because young adults with kidney disorders enthusiastically pass on their wisdom to their younger brethren.

We hope you will access and enjoy these short testimonials illustrating the tremendous positive impact NWKK has on so many individual’s lives in our community. We would appreciate an ongoing grateful donation because you know It Matters.

My very best regards,

David J. Rozansky MD, PhD

President, NW Kidney Kids Board of Directors

“We found it so meaningful to connect with other families and counselors who have been on a similar medical path. Your wonderfully encouraging community makes the kidney journey feel less lonely. Seeing our daughter compare similar kidney scars with a fellow kidney kid brought tears to my eyes.”

-Ann & Dale Gentry

Kidney Parents

“This is what my family needed. Just to be seen and know that there are other people out there and that they can understand my son's needs and my own parents' needs. This is NW Kidney Kids.”

-Kimarie Lamb

Kidney Mom

“NW Kidney Kids matters to me because I get to have fun! Normally the attention is on my sister, but here (at Kidney Camp) we both get the attention we need.”

-Addie L.
