Right now, immigrants are under attack and we urgently need your help to resist the mass deportation campaigns that will tear families apart. 


The Immigrant Defense Project (IDP) fights the dehumanization and criminalization of immigrants that threatens our communities.  For nearly 30 years, we’ve worked at the intersection of the criminal and immigration legal systems to:

  • Provide free expert legal analysis, advice, and rights-based education to criminalized immigrants;

  • Expand the capacity of immigrant service providers offering free legal representation;

  • Protect and expand immigrant rights with state and local legislative campaigns; 

  • Constrain the use of bad immigration laws to sweep immigrants into the deportation machine; and 

  • Challenge dangerous narratives that fuel anti-immigrant policies. 


We have developed the unique expertise needed to develop cutting-edge, creative defenses that recognize the inherent value and worth of every person. Our work is rooted in the principle that no one is disposable.
