I Am A Queen's Ultimate Christmas Adoption program is a 10-week program that provides assistance to families in the Piedmont-Triad facing economic hardship during the holiday season. The program requires families to sign up to receive help, there is a screening and selection process of candidates, a registration period, and an educational seminar on financial awareness and how to overcome personal obstacles.
The program utilizes an angel tree selection process for donors and corporations to select children’s wish lists they would like to adopt. In addition, the program partners with local grocery stores to provide each family with a holiday food box that contains a frozen turkey and nonperishable sides.
This year we will also provide Christmas Stockings to 50 senior citizens in the Piedmont Triad, N.C. and with a hot home-cooked meal and Christmas blanket.
During the second week of December, I Am A Queen partners with The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Greensboro to provide space for donors to drop off their gifts and for families to pick up.
Since 2009, I Am A Queen has fulfilled 687 children’s Christmas wish lists and 98 senior citizens stockings.
