Hello, my name is Anice and I was born and raised in a small community called Red Ground. It is located in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica not far from the main town of Santa Cruz. As many of you may have heard, hurricane Melissa has caused lots of damage around the island. My community in Red Ground is located up in the hills and is always the last community to get any type of help and support. Some homes have lost roofs and some have minor damage. My people need little help to re-build and to buy the necessary items needed during these hard times. It breaks my heart to see our people suffer as they have lost so much. My community has come together as ONE and already started removing debris from the roads and making the water safe to drink. My community and I will appreciate any support no matter how small it is.
As of now we are trying to support around 20 households in the district with food items as that is the urgent need. If we gather more funds, we will then tackle larger issues such as roofs and structure repairs.
