The Maria Fondal Hill of Hope Foundation honors the legacy of Dr. Maria Hill Fondal, a beloved physician who spent her life caring for others. Though she lost her battle with cancer, her mission lives on through our work to reduce disparities and expand access to the building blocks of well-being.
We focus on three pillars: health equity, education advancement, and economic opportunity.
Your donation helps us launch bold, community-rooted solutions, from our first pilot tackling food deserts to tools for financial and health literacy.
What we are doing right now:
- Keep Albany Moving is our summer program. We deliver free fuel cards, grocery packages, and a personal letter to working families in Albany getting squeezed by higher prices across the board.
- In Columbus, we sponsored Feeding the Valley’s Empty Bowl this year. That funded 6,000 children’s meals through the Kids Cafe program.
- When SNAP benefits got disrupted, we sent over 80 boxes of fresh produce to seniors, disabled residents, and people going through cancer treatment.
- This fall, students at Albany State University start our first scholarship cohort. Each one gets a scholarship exchange for community leadership, beginning with a cancer prevention and food access project.
Hope is alive. Here, with you.
