Hello Friends of Sophie's Dream,
For those that donated to Sophie's Dream this year, Thank you so much!!. Your contribution has made quite a difference and we appreciate it!
It has helped us do community support through free art therapy classes and personal one-on-one counseling with those struggling through job loss and navigating moving forward during this pandemic.
So many are "stuck" when they find the job that they have been doing for years has ended or run its course through new technology and trends. Sophie's Dream has been helping those who have had jobs eliminated through this recent pandemic and help them use their existing skills to focus on new career opportunities that are thriving during this time.
A recent example is someone who did network services wiring for a large corporations all over the world. With many companies going out of business, he lost a number of large contracts in recent months.
He contacted Sophie's Dream for assistance. We wrote a new business strategy and plan for him to focus his business on setting up homes to have great internet services to meet the new need for those who now have their business office at home.
We then took his new focus to the community. posting it on NextDoor and having it advertised in various Home Owner Associations Newsletters in the area.
One of Sophie's Dream many goals is to help people stay independent and avoid getting enslaved to the public assistance program. Focusing on people's passions and gifts to heal them as well as to help them succeed in providing for themselves.
One of our immediate goals is to apply for a large grant to provide non-drug treatments through products to help heal trauma, ptsd, brain injuries through virtual reality. From helping people adjust to new prosthetics in a virtual environment to helping people overcome fears and phobias so they can look to the future with hope rather than with fear.
Please consider making a tax-deductible year-end gift or partnering with us as a monthly member. We all can make a difference if we see a need and do it and thank you for helping us make a difference in helping people thrive after tragedy, loss, trauma, illness or other events that can cause immobilization.
Thank you so much for those who have donated this year. We are so grateful for your help.
HAPPY NEW YEAR,
