Aloha mai kākou,

Hui Kanaka Pōwāwae, the heartbeat of Hawaiian Football’s National Teams, extends a heartfelt invitation to embark on a journey of transformative change. Since our inaugural league kick-off on Maui in 1975, we expanded our reach, impacting nearly 8,000 youth club soccer players across the Hawaiian Islands annually. In 2020, we sharpened our focus to represent the interests of the most vulnerable population belonging to Hawai‘i—Native Hawaiians.

Our mission goes beyond the field; it’s a national sporting endeavor. We harness the unifying, cultural, educational, and humanitarian values intrinsic to global football (soccer) to rebuild the national character and identity of Hawaiians. By converging education with the world’s most powerful sport, we are reclaiming the rich history and heritage of the Hawaiian Islands, embodying aloha ‘āina (“love of country”), aloha kānaka (“love of mankind”), and nā pono lāhui kānaka (“human rights”).

Nā ‘Ālapa Hawai‘i (our National Teams) stand as a beacon of hope. Through our Teams, Hawaiians now proudly represent their country, sharing our values with the international community – in dire need of aloha – on the global football stage.
