We are thrilled to share an important opportunity to expand life-changing trauma healing in U.S. prisons through Michael’s Gift Nonprofit. Guided by our mission of research, education, and delivery, we bring forward Holographic Memory Resolution® (HMR)—an innovative, evidence-based, body-centered approach that helps individuals safely release the impact of trauma without retraumatization.
In 2024–2025, we launched a pilot program at Angola Prison, the largest maximum-security prison in the nation. Despite high levels of childhood trauma (all but 1 participant reported 4+ ACEs [Adverse Childhood Experiences]), the results were extraordinary, including 9.2/10 average rating across 16 measures of impact.
Building on this success, we are preparing to launch the next program at a women’s prison in Minnesota (Fall/Spring 2025). Our model for “Finding Freedom on the Inside” combines:
• Intensive 3-day training in HMR
• Weekly peer/practitioner follow-ups (9–12 months)
• Follow-up evaluation with validated clinical tools (PCL-5, GAD-7, PHQ-9, SSS-8, SVS)
• Capacity building for long-term peer facilitation and staff involvement
This amount covers certified practitioner-led training, weekly support groups, evaluation, materials, and
reporting. This is a highly cost-effective investment compared to the costs of recidivism and
incarceration.
