Each year, Reconciliation Services works to address root causes and symptoms of poverty and trauma in Kansas City, serving nearly 4,000 neighbors in need.
This October, I will be joining a group of hikers to trek across the Grand Canyon -- 20+ miles from the North Rim to the South Rim -- to bring awareness and raise support for Reconciliation Services and their work to cultivate social and economic reconciliation to our community. I am trying to raise $5,000 for this organization that is committed to promoting DIGNITY, COMMUNITY, and ADVOCACY. Please consider supporting me and this important work by making a donation today!
As many of you know, I spent a very busy 42 years working for the railroad and also raising kids. There have been many people in those years that helped immensely. Thank you! When I retired in 2020, I felt called to just give back.
I now spend my days with my amazing wife updating our home or spending time with family when I am not volunteering somewhere. I am very grateful to have the good health to be able to do the things I do. I pray there are people still there for me when I need help.
I first heard about Reconciliation Services from my friend Bryan. He was excited about the Hike For Reconciliation and shared his experience of a previous hike for them. After some discernment, I felt called to join the next hike this fall.
I hope you look into this amazing organization. If you feel called, please generously support their mission through my page. The organization's goal for me is $5000. I would love to greatly exceed that goal for a great cause.
The hike we take will be in October. We will descend the north rim of the grand canyon, transverse the canyon floor, then ascend the south rim. It's a total of about 25 miles. It will be a long day.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
