"LIGHTING THE WAY FOR A BETTER WORLD"
Hikari Project is a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to bringing hope, support, and lasting impact to communities in need—one act of kindness at a time.
ABOUT US
Hikari Project was founded in 2025 by Landen Carlton, a young dreamer with a big heart and an even bigger vision—to be a light for those navigating life’s darkest moments. Based in Maryland, USA, the name “Hikari,” which means “light” in Japanese, reflects our belief that even the smallest spark of kindness can illuminate the world.
We are a family-led nonprofit organization committed to making meaningful change through community support, accessible resources, and direct aid. Whether it’s helping families in crisis, supporting underserved youth, or launching programs that promote education and wellness, we exist to lift others up—with compassion, action, and hope.
Every donation, volunteer, and voice matters. Together, we shine brighter.
MISSION
To raise funds and provide essential services, resources, and support to individuals, families, schools and churches in need, creating a brighter and more compassionate world for all.
VISION
A world where no one feels forgotten—where kindness, access, and opportunity light the path forward for every human being.
WHAT WE DO
At Hikari Project, we believe in the power of kindness to spark change. As a youth-led nonprofit, we focus on uplifting our communities through meaningful, hands-on acts of service. Our activities include:
- Supporting schools through donations, bake sales, and meaningful volunteer work
- Donating goods to the Humane Society of Montgomery County to support animal welfare and promote compassion
- Supporting local churches through volunteer work and community outreach
- Creating and sending handmade cards to hospitalized children and isolated seniors, reminding them they are seen, valued, and loved
- Cleaning local parks and beaches to help protect the environment and promote community pride
We are committed to shining a light wherever there is a need—spreading hope, love, and kindness, one act at a time.
