3 years ago you have been an important part of saving our project “TOPtoTOP Global Climate Expedition” to save the planet.
In the last three years, we managed to repair our boat and still running the project to inspire people to save our planet. This without cost: We had also to overcome a burnout.
Therefore we apologies to be late to say thank you very much for your essential support.
Today we like to share with you the success of perseverance: We are back on track highly motivated and in full spirit to continue dedicating our lives to this wonderful planet earth!
At the moment we are in the high Arctic at 70 degrees North, inspiring school children, saving polar bears as well as orcas, and taking water samples on microplastics and DNA. Please read and share our TOPtoTOP annual report in 2020.
We still appreciate any donation that helps to keep the expedition sailboat afloat. The operating costs per month are min. USD 2000.-.

09.11.2017 Exceptional storm crashed Pachamama
For 17 years, the Schwoerer Family together with volunteers from 58 nations has led the “TOPtoTOP Global Climate Expedition” conducting field-based research for universities, scientists, and research organizations, visiting the world’s remote regions and sharing examples of innovative solutions to protect and conserve our planet. It’s the first expedition connecting all climates, traversing seven seas, reaching the highest peaks of all seven continents, powered only by nature and the human spirit. After 100,000 nautical miles covering over 100 countries, more than 120,000 students got inspired to act. On this unique expedition, Sabine & Dario Schwoerer gave birth to Salina, Andri, Noe, Alegra, Mia, and Vital.
A creasy storm crashed Pachamama in Akureyri in the very North of Iceland close to the Arctic Circle on Monday the 6th of November 2017 after midnight, when all boat cleats and heavy-duty ropes collapsed in the huge swell. We were able to navigate to the next floating peer which moved like a furious snake, where we crashed with full force again and again on a concrete floating pier.
All hands were on the pumps to keep Pachamama a float. Not before the storm was decreasing, the rescue team ashore were able to access the float to get the kids from the boat. The fire firefighters came with a bigger pump and the harbor staff organized big truck tires to avoid more damage.
Hard on the kids, seeing Pachamama nearly sinking and now to scope with their damaged home. Hard on us, after 18 years putting so much energy in our mission to save the planet.
No idea, how we overcome this challenge, but we just take it step by step and started to save our belongings on board and bring them ashore...
The aluminum frame of the hull is severely damaged. The repairs will succeed USD 75'000.-. Please help and become part of the project towards a full recovery of Pachamama.
