Help Johnny

All started in November when my child's vision began to decline. He was diagnosed with astigmatism and started wearing glasses, but the headaches did not go away. When school started, he looked very tired, and I went to dance classes as if he felt sorry for his body, he wasn't at all...

If we were talking about Johnny's problems, we might have thought "this is what happens when you have poor vision and are uncomfortable with them". But the story doesn't end like that, unfortunately...

Our 8 year old boy's condition has worsened to the point where he can't go down the stairs and his appetite has decreased day by day.

The neurologist said it could be an autumn migraine, and the ophthalmologist told us that the child's vision is fine, but that he has some disturbances, "as if there is something in his head" and it creates pressure on his eyes.

The mystery was to be elucidated only after an MRI examination. This is how we found out that our son has a very large tumor near his cerebellum (medulloblastoma). "It must be operated quickly as long as the tumor is operated on," the surgeons warned.

On February, Johnny underwent surgery.  The intervention achieved its goal - the tumor was removed - but locomotor and speech functions were lost.

Hospital specialists are optimistic about the boy, if he undergoes the necessary treatment (chemotherapy, radiotherapy and drugs).

The treatment costs a lot, money we don't have, but we can get our boy back on his feet. Johnny longs to get back to normal life, to go to Taekwondo. His dream is to one day get his black belt.  He also likes Latin, which is getting better and he wants to take lessons again.

Johnny needs £85,000 to hope for recovery and a normal life.  We can't raise that much money alone because we're talking about a woman who worked in a coffee shop and a man who works in construction. We would do anything for our son, but we cannot afford the treatment that can save our son's life and health.

We are asking for the help of people with big hearts to give us a chance for a new life for Johnny.

Any donation made can save Johnny's life and make his dreams come true.  He could be the next Taekwondo champion, being the example that others must carry on despite life's hardships.  Or they could use their passion for Latin in ways that make the world a better place.  We will never know this child's potential if we are not with him in this fight for life.
