Helping Our Heroes Dog Walk

The Helping Our Heroes club at Horace Greeley High School is hosting a virtual dog walk to raise awareness for Veteran mental health and to raise money to sponsor a companion dog for a Veteran. 

We are sponsoring a dog through Boots & Paws, a Guardian Revival program that provides Veterans with dogs along with a care package, which includes professional training sessions, veterinary coverage, pet insurance, food, toys, and leashes.

"Companion dogs can reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and feelings of loneliness for Veterans. The responsibility that comes with taking care of a dog benefits both physical and mental health tremendously by increasing physical activity and social interaction. The emotional support provided by companion dogs can help Veterans overcome challenging situations that might otherwise compromise their quality of life." - Boots & Paws
