Survival Gear
My main focus has always been to shelter people who are in the most extreme and difficult situations. Like it or not, there are many reasons why a tent is sometimes the answer. These are items that I regularly need to help people survive:
- Tents
- Tarps
- Trash bags
- Hand sanitizer
- Hand wipes
- Locks and cables for locking up bicycles (they are the most stolen items).
Our School for The Homeless and Forgotten
(at least that's what I'm calling it right now.)
So far we are working on our bicycle repair shop and our music school.
Some items we could use are:
- Bicycles
- Bicycle parts
- Guitars
- Amplifiers
- Microphones
- Cables for amplifiers
Here is Kenny working on a bike he's repairing and playing the drums:
Homelessness in America is not right. Plain and simple.
There are men, women, children, seniors and veterans living unsheltered on our streets. It's so tempting to blame them for their predicament.
These are not murderers. These are not violent criminals. These are people who have fallen through every single safety net our society provides. And usually, the reason they come to me for shelter is that they have nowhere to turn. They have no family. Their friends are barely surviving on their own.
I have seen total panic and desperation. I have looked into the eyes of a woman who was sleeping in her house last night, was evicted this morning and now has come to me pleading, BEGGING for a tent and place to put it.
We must do better by the people in our country that have nothing, that have no one.
I NEED YOUR HELP.
Would you please consider becoming a member of our community? We work very minimally. We pay no salaries. Our house has been condemned. We will be jailed or fined if we put one more tent on our land. BUT WE CAN NOT STOP.
If anything we must fight harder than ever. We have shown very clearly that there is no mercy, there is no compassion, there is no kindness for those most in need in Akron Ohio. We must be the the compassion. We must be the mercy. We much be the love that is so withheld in our city.
Together we can change the world. It doesn't take much. But a lot of a little goes a long way.
Thank you so much for your support.
