The Need
In Pakistan Oral, Head and Neck cancer is the most common cancer in males and second in females. This is most prevalent in low socio-economic parts of the population particularly in slums where rampant use of Pan, Gutka and other such carcinogenic tobacco compounds wreak havoc amongst the population. In the areas surrounding our medical campus, the population also suffers from various ENT issues due to their living conditions and pollution from burning garbage.
We launched our current medical facility in partnership with Idara Al Khair (IAK) in 2020. We’ve observed a growing number of patient cases related to ENT so much so that the current 8-bed facility is now primarily operating as a specialized ENT clinic. Today, we are seeing more than 1,500 patients monthly which is pushing capacity and resources in this space.
Our Goals
Help us construct a state-of-the-art 50-bed medical facility with a focus around ear, nose, and throat (ENT) health and more broadly supporting head and neck departments. The facility will be 4 floors and will offer other specialized medical services in the fields of:
- Pediatrics
- Dermatology
- Dental
- Orthopedics
- Psychiatric
- Nutrition
Service Area
Our service area covers everything in Karachi from Jam Chakro to the north to outskirts of New Karachi to the south. With a 10 km radium from the hospital, we operate five schools and run several civic and food development programs in partnership with IAK to serve these communities.
Cost and Timeline
The total cost of the 4 floor hospital will be approximately $600,000. Each floor will cost $140,000.
We have already purchased the land and will begin construction promptly in 2023 as soon as we have reached our first funding goal of $200,000.
