Mira is a young transgender woman in a country that kills people like her. She fled to a nearby country, where she will try to get asylum. Only after that she can be relocated to a safe country. If you can spare 5 to 10 USD/EUR per month to support her until she is self-supporting, you can help to give this young woman a new life.

Mira is from Aden, a city in the Republic of Yemen. A natural harbor, located along the northern coast of the Gulf of Aden. Placed in the Middle East (Asia) bordering Oman and Saudi Arabia. Yemen was a crown colony of the United Kingdom from 1937 to 1963.

She describes herself as to be a part of the lgbtq community. Because of it, she is not being accepted by her family and community. The moment they (her family and community) knew she wasn't a man as they thought she was, they began to mistreat her. She has been raped, beaten, imprisoned and threatened that they are going to kill her, her childhood wasn't what you hoped for a child to be. In her words ‘’most people from her hometown don’t accept people who are ‘different’ than the norm’’. At one point they transferred her into a psychiatric clinic, because of the so called ‘’gender dysphoria.’’

With all the strength she has and hard work, Mira had saved just enough money to travel to one of the closest countries, she could entry, not all country's let Yemenis in.

In her current location, the rights and acceptance for LGBTQ+ individuals are insufficient for someone to fully express their identity. For her own safety, Mira must present as male and conceal her true self. Additionally, Mira faces restrictions that prevent her from working legally, forcing her to rely on precarious and unregulated employment where the risk of abuse is high.

Her plan involves traveling to a more accepting nation when she gets her asylum. It would be deeply meaningful for Mira if you could support her survival until to one of these safe havens, where she can finally live in peace and embrace her true identity.

Mira can not come out yet, for her own safety, so this impression is made with AI.
