Playing helps children in their early development stage to build their confidence and learn useful skills for study, work, and building strong relationships. Our Community Sponsorship Programme to enrol 70 children into primary school every year and provide mentorship to keep them learning is already underway and we believe playing is a key factor for achieving our aim. Sadly, the children will have no functional playground in which to play.
Playgrounds are rare facilities in the villages and Every Village Matters is constructing a community playground to benefit not just the 420 pupils we will be sponsoring but all the children in the Amaimo community.
We have the building space...
Holy Rosary Model Nursery/Primary School, Amaimo, has provided us a large space to consctruct
the playground for all the children in the community to play
And we are now buiding!
The playground will feature various exciting outdoor play equipment such as swings, climbing frames,
merry-go-rounds, and slides all built on a soft play area, and a football pitch with a basketball hoop
We fondly remember the children's loud cheering when we announced our plans to them. It felt like they could already see the playground... Such is the faith of children and we share this with them.
