🌍 Help Us Keep a Waldorf School Alive in Brazil
In just a few months, nearly 200 children in southern Brazil may lose their school year.
The Waldorf School Turmalina, a pioneering school in Curitiba, has been forced to leave the land where it has operated for over 20 years. After a challenging legal dispute, we now have a final deadline: July 2026.
Without a ready new space, the school cannot continue its activities — and the children’s education will be directly impacted.
💛 A community that refused to give up
Turmalina is not just a school.
It is a living community built over more than 30 years by families, teachers, and supporters who believe in a more human, creative, and conscious education.
When we were asked to leave, the entire community came together.
We found a new location
We developed an architectural project
We started construction
And together, we raised nearly USD 200,000
This has only been possible because people truly believe in what this school represents.
🚧 What is still needed
Now, with the deadline approaching, we are facing our biggest challenge:
We still need to raise USD 120,000 to make the new space ready for the children by August — without interrupting the school year.
In Brazil, the school year runs from February to December, with a short break in July.
👉 This means we cannot delay.
👉 The school must be ready in time.
🌱 Why this school matters
Turmalina is:
The first Waldorf schools in Curitiba
One of the only schools offering full elementary Waldorf education in the city
A school serving almost 200 children today
And most importantly:
💛 Nearly 40% of our students receive financial support, ensuring access to this education regardless of family income. Which makes it even more challenging - and meaningful - to be able to make this change in such short time.

This new space is not just a solution — it is an opportunity.
It will allow us to:
Expand from 175 to 300 students
Create the first Waldorf high school in the entire state of Paraná
Increase access to this education for many more families
