The Problem:
We Need More Space!
Running a sanctuary means constantly facing challenges and in order to continue our lifesaving mission sustainably and safely, Piece of Heaven requires some urgent upgrades. Will you join hundreds of others this spring by sponsoring part of our sanctuary revitalization?
When we started 10 years ago, we had just seven rescued animals. But now, there are more than 150 farmed animals calling our sanctuary home, all sharing a few acres of secure, fenced-in pasture.
Of course, it’s in danger of becoming over-grazed, and needs to recover. We have to buy hay all year round for feeding purposes, which is a financially crippling and unsustainable option.

What Your Support Builds

🔹3,570 feet of wire fencing
🔹Most importantly, quality labor: 450 holes must be dug. 450 posts must be placed. Fencing must be nailed and stapled.
The fence must be built to last and be strong enough to keep out predators. Anything less would put our sanctuary, our volunteers, and, most importantly, the animals at risk.

Piece of Heaven Vegan Project Society is a Not for Profit society number S0070124 incorporated in British Columbia.
Sharon and Mark Starmer began rescuing dogs nearly thirty years ago when they still lived in the UK. When they moved to a remote spot in British Columbia with lots of unused land, it was a natural progression for them to try to help as many animals as possible. Thus, Piece of Heaven Project was born, rescuing their first animals 10 years ago.
Supported only by the efforts of a very small number of vegan volunteers, who raise the funds and help out physically when they can.
