Diamond's story is one no horse should ever have to live.
A former racehorse, Diamond once ran for prize money before she was discarded, sent through auction, and ultimately ended up in the kill pen. Thankfully, she was given a second chance, and today she's safe at KW Ranch & Rescue. Now our mission is to give her the life she has always deserved.
Diamond suffers from severe laminitis. Her front hooves have a rotated and sunken coffin bone, making every step painful. Walking is difficult, and without proper medical care, her quality of life will continue to suffer.
The good news is that there is hope.
With diagnostic X-rays, specialized therapeutic shoes, veterinary care, and the medications she needs, we can significantly improve her comfort and help her walk with less pain. Our goal isn't to make her a riding horse again—it's simply to give her the chance to enjoy life, graze peacefully in the pasture, and live the rest of her days as comfortably as possible.
Here's what we're raising funds for:
- Diagnostic X-rays (before and after placement of shoes): $430
- Specialized therapeutic shoes: Approximately $500
- Cryo Therapy boots (gold standard for recovery) $695 each (need 4)
- 6 months of farrier services/x-rays (5 times) Approximately $5,580
- Veterinary examination fee, medications, and any additional treatment Diamond may need throughout her recovery.
