Help Clyde Breathe Again

7/18/2026 Update:

We had an extensive conversation with Clyde's lead surgeon at UGA this morning, and while we finally have a clearer picture of what lies ahead, it wasn't the news we were hoping for.

The damage this rare infection has caused to Clyde's face is simply too extensive for surgery alone.

Before surgery can even be considered, Clyde will need radiation therapy to reduce the disease and give surgeons the best chance of successfully removing the affected tissue.

If they attempted surgery now, the surgeon explained that Clyde would almost certainly require repeated operations because they would be unable to fully eliminate the infection. In the long run, multiple surgeries would cost as much as—or even more than—the radiation treatment itself.

We know the amount we have already raised for Clyde is significant to this community, and we are incredibly grateful. Every dollar has gone toward the diagnostics that finally gave us answers. But this is an extraordinarily rare and difficult infection, and unfortunately, we are now entering the most expensive phase of his treatment.

Not treating him isn't an option we can bear to consider. The thought of having to euthanize Clyde simply because we cannot afford the treatment he needs is absolutely heartbreaking. This is not us threatening to put him down unless we have money. The reality is we need the funds to move forward with treatment, not being able to proceed with treatment is not compatible with life for Clyde. Humane euthanasia would be the kindest thing if we cannot raise the funds.

The encouraging news is this: Clyde's prognosis is good if he receives radiation followed by surgery. Without radiation, however, surgery alone does not offer him a good chance of recovery.

A single radiation treatment costs several thousand dollars. He would need multiple. Because Clyde's case is so unusual, his surgeon has offered to present his case to the hospital board in hopes of securing some financial assistance. We are incredibly thankful for that willingness to advocate for him, but we still need to raise a substantial amount ourselves.

Our goal is to raise at least $12,000 over the next week. Reaching that milestone will help determine whether we can move forward with the treatment plan that gives Clyde the best chance at a healthy future.

We are doing everything we can, but we cannot do this alone.

If Clyde's story has touched your heart, please consider making a donation of any amount. If you're unable to give, you can still make an enormous difference by sharing his fundraiser and tagging friends or family who may be willing to help.

Every share expands Clyde's reach. Every donation brings him one step closer to treatment. And every person who stands behind him gives this sweet pig another chance at the life he deserves.

Thank you for believing in Clyde

Clyde's Story:

Just a few days ago, we shared the incredible news that Clyde's biopsy came back NOT cancer.

It was the answer we had all been praying for.

But while we celebrated that victory, we also learned that Clyde's journey is far from over.

Instead of cancer, Clyde has been diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive bacterial infection that has destroyed much of the bone in his face and caused the large mass that now makes it difficult for him to breathe. This is not a condition that can simply be treated with antibiotics at home.

The specialists at the University of Georgia have developed a treatment plan that gives Clyde a real chance, but it is intensive.

Many production animals diagnosed with infections like this are euthanized because of the cost and complexity of treatment.

But Clyde isn't livestock to us.

He is family.

Over the past several weeks, your generosity has already made an incredible difference. The original fundraiser raised more than $6,100, but more than half of those funds have already been used to cover his CT scan, biopsy, hospitalization, specialist consultations, and diagnostic testing that allowed us to reach this diagnosis.

Those expenses brought us to this point.

This fundraiser is for the next phase of Clyde's journey.

The estimate is $12,000.
We now need to raise $12,000 to help cover his radiation, extended hospitalization, specialized treatment, and the follow-up care he will need at UGA.

Every dollar donated brings Clyde one step closer to breathing comfortably again and gives him the opportunity to recover from a disease that, until recently, we feared was something far worse.

If you're unable to donate, you can still make a tremendous difference by sharing Clyde's story. Every share helps more people discover this sweet pig who has captured so many hearts.

Thank you for believing in Clyde and for reminding us, time and again, that every life is worth fighting for.

Together, let's get Clyde back home where he belongs.
Let's get him breathing with ease again.
