Dear Knights of Vartan Community,

HALO has a long history of keeping the civilian population of Nagorno Karabakh safe by clearing landmines and explosives. Support from HALO's partnership with Knights of Vartan has forever changed the lives of Karabakhis throughout several villages with the clearance of two large minefields this past year.

Now, there is a grave and new humanitarian need for HALO’s work. The worst fighting in decades has erupted in Karabakh. Families have been forced to flee to shelters as explosives, including cluster bombs, have hit civilian areas.

HALO is on the ground right now teaching people to avoid dangerous explosives and distributing aid to civilians forced from their homes. HALO is also mapping and isolating the explosive debris so that they can clear these deadly cluster munitions and explosives, to allow displaced families to safely return home.
