Geek Wellness Education 2021 Fundraiser

Geek Wellness Education is a 501c3 non-profit that seeks to uplift the geeky community.
Our current initiatives include:
Heroes Assemble: We bring cosplay superheroes and other fantasy characters to visit seriously ill children, provide gifts and help give them some encouragement to get through their struggles.

Horror Heals: A Tribute to Child's Play's John Lafia is coming to conventions in 2021!

For many of us, Horror is an escape from the trauma we've experienced in our lives. The Horror Heals panel will incorporate concepts from Horror films into a discussion of evidence-based mental health treatment. We will also have local mental health resource information available to anyone in need.

We will also be honoring the life and career of John Lafia, the co-creator of Chucky, co-writer of Child's Play and director of Child's Play 2, who tragically took his own life on April 29th, 2020. In addition to getting statements from his family and celebrities who worked with him, we are hoping to arrange for people in the Horror film community (either who worked with him or were inspired by his work) to speak at the panel, which would also give people the chance to meet them and buy pics/autographs at our table!

All of this costs money. The more we are able to recieve, the better the events can be and the more events we'll be able to attend...meaning that we can reach more people in need.
