Support Social Connection in Greenwich this Winter
Greenwich is a borough with so much to offer - but nearly 1 in 3 Greenwich residents report feeling lonely. Loneliness and isolation affects people of all ages and backgrounds. People who are already vulnerable - due to poverty, disability or discrimination - are even more likely to feel lonely and to struggle. Residents of Greenwich told us that they want more help to build connection and community.
Social Connection is the theme for the first Greenwich Giving campaign, chosen by hundreds of local community members. They told us:
100% of funds raised in this campaign will go to charities and community groups working to tackle isolation and loneliness in Greenwich. Residents with lived experience will help us to decide where the funding is directed. And we'll also be working to connect non-monetary gifts - like time, skills, food or space - to local charities, helping them to reach more people and have more impact.
Greenwich Giving is the new local giving scheme for the Royal Borough of Greenwich. We inspire those who live and work in Greenwich to give - whether that's money, time, skills, or items, – to protect and strengthen their local places and communities. We run persuasive giving campaigns, involve local people in decision-making, and support the amazing work of our voluntary sector.

Greenwich Giving is an independent organisation that is incubated by METRO Charity (Registered Charity No. 1070582). We also receive support from the Royal Borough of Greenwich and City Bridge Foundation.
