A Living Library For the Future
—
Gomde UK is volunteer-led charity, rooted in the wish to make authentic Buddhist wisdom accessible to all. Our Library project is a vital expression of this — creating a lasting home for sacred texts, scholarly research, and cultural learning.
Built by the generosity of our community, the Gomde UK Library already houses thousands of texts from Buddhist traditions around the world — and we’re just getting started. With your support, we can grow this into one of the most important Buddhist libraries in the UK: a space for study, reflection, connection, and care.
By donating, you help us:
Preserve and share sacred Buddhist texts for future generations.
Create a welcoming, accessible space for learning, practice, and study.
Build a world-class research library within the future Thubten Chökor Ling Temple.
Offer free access to knowledge for people of all ages, backgrounds, and traditions.
Celebrate and protect the local environment and heritage through our growing Local Collection.
Connect wisdom traditions with environmental understanding and cultural renewal.
GOMDE UK LIBRARY TEAM

Thank you for helping us build this treasure house of knowledge for the benefit of all beings.
With deep appreciation,
All of us at Gomde UK

Gomde UK is a registered charity and international Buddhist Retreat and Meditation Centre in Yorkshire, England. Part of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche’s global network, the Shedrub Mandala, we are dedicated to preserving and making accessible authentic Buddhist teachings to anyone who seeks inner peace, compassion, and insight.
Gomde is a place of learning, community, and service — nurturing heart, mind, and land. The Peatland Retreat Wing is a key part of this mission, expanding our ability to support all those who seek inner peace and transformation.
