Each holiday season, the York Daily Record and the Hanover Evening Sun offer readers the opportunity to help our community through the Christmas Emergency Fund.
In the past, we have chosen one nonprofit as the beneficiary of the fund drive. This year, we plan to spread the community's generosity among scores of great organizations that help our community with food, clothing, shelter and a host of other needs.
Donations will go to the Give Local York Stretch Pool that is used to increase donations to the nonprofits participating in our community's largest one-day fundraising event, which raised over $5 million in May for over 300 area charities.
Think of it as a kind of Give Local York - Holiday Edition. One gift, supporting many nonprofits.
