InnerAct Alliance, formerly the Drug Prevention Resource Center, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency established in 1985 to reduce the abuse and underage use of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs through: Community Awareness and Involvement; Prevention Education; Economic Support; and Leadership Development.
The agency’s efforts to positively impact the Hardee, Highlands, and Polk county communities of Central Florida include science-based substance abuse and bullying prevention education for nearly 15,000 students in 70 elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as outreach to over 100,000 citizens annually via informative presentations, teen-driven social norms marketing, and family-oriented awareness events such as the Annual Red Ribbon Campaign and motivational rallies for fifth grade students countywide.
We have set a modest goal of $5,000 for our first Giving Tuesday Campaign to cover the cost of materials to expand InnerAct Alliance’s programs and services in approximately ten more classrooms. Additional funds will help further efforts to inform and educate hundreds more students about the harmful effects of alcohol, nicotine, marijuana, vaping, narcotics, bullying, mental health, and other risky behaviors.
