This Giving Tuesday you can help over 500 young Black girls in their natural hair journey by donating to

The Curly Code

The Curly Code is a natural hair community that teaches Black girls ages 16-24 about all things beauty—encouraging them to love and care for their hair and skin. We take a student-centered approach to our college and career programming, meeting students at their beauty interests, building trust and community, and creating a safe space to learn about college admissions and post-graduate career paths. The Curly Code is where Curls, College & Careers collide to provide a rigorous curriculum that brings education to life through interactive programming.

"Almost all women worry about their hair to some extent; black women experience high levels of anxiety than white women"

- The “Good Hair” Survey By The Perception Institute

"The results of the Hair IAT show:

Black women who are part of an online natural hair community are more likely to show a preference for black women’s textured hair."

See What Our Curlfriends Are Saying

"This event was so uplifting as a result of being around so many women of color who are learning to embrace their natural hair. I have never been to an event where we embraced our Black beauty so being here just gave me more courage to embrace who I truly am."

"The vibe and people were very welcoming and nonjudgemental. Absolutely no type of hostility. It felt like a family backyard gathering even though I didn’t know a lot of the people."

Partner with us on our mission to teach young Black girls to learn and love their natural hair.
