Hello Donors!
A lot has happened since our first update in July 2022, both personally and for Giving Sunlight:
- We packed up and moved to the Cassia County area in South Central Idaho.
- One of our core members (aka the one who typically updates) got a new full time position, and training and "new" took some time.
- We did some local exploring (such beauty surrounds us all)
- We got to know our community more
And...we introduced ourselves and our Giving Sunlight mission!
Since our move in January 2023, we have been able to:
- Volunteer our time to help unload and shelf food pantries.
- Color learning units for the local Humanitarian Center
- Make 3 food donations to the local Community Council--selecting items based on supply need
- Purchase and donate long-sleeved shirts for the Community Council's Migrant Farmer Workers Project
- Start calling local restaurants in connection to our Food Rescue mission
- Work on our nutritional cookie recipe and selling link (soon to come)
Oh, and we made some stickers! :)
It has been an exciting and fun time...and this is just the beginning! Our relationships are growing, so is our reach and impact--and you are helping make that happen!

Today we donated hundreds of food items to the food pantry at the Community Council of Idaho in Burley. Shout out to Maria and her amazing team or getting food out to the area's neediest families.
"Oh Boy, Cookies!!!"
This was one of the many happy and thankful statements shared this past Wednesday, July 27th, when the first batch of 200 cookies were deliver to the Corpus Chrsti House in Boise, thanks to your donations and to the Bob's Red Mill donation we received!
With the donations we were able to receive so far and the Bob's Red Mill donation, we were able to purchase ingredients and a couple of reusable delivery trays.
The cookies that we make are vegan, gluten-free, and so delicious! While preparing, we made a small batch for the Idaho Federation of Families and were quickly asked..."Can I have the recipe?" the following day!
For choice, we also turned a batch into bars, and have future plans for making granola!
We also got creative with our Silhouette and made some stickers! Currently, we are working on getting the stickers out to donors as a Thank You!
We are so grateful for the donations we have received so far! Your support has helped Give Sunlight to so many already!
Continued donations will help the Giving Sunlight Team increase the frequency of nutritional cookie donations, work at being able to donate to more than one place, and increase our contribution to Food Rescue Organizations, like Rolling Tomato, as well as make our own food donor connections.
We have also updated our "Donate" options to include one-time, weekly, and monthly, and have increased the donor amount options.
