The Craig Goida SDAFFL Foundation is the first Foundation endorsed and supported by the San Diego American Flag Football League (SDAFFL) and overseen by its Executive Board.
The Craig Goida SDAFFL Foundation was born out of more than a decade of Craig's involvement with the SDAFFL. Craig had the privilege of being involved with an organization surrounded by people full of compassion, love and a true desire to give back. What he learned from this he emulates in his own life and became the framework for this foundation. During his ten plus seasons as a player, Craig participated in seven Gay Bowl appearances with the Assault, Toros and Bolts, winning four National Championships and being named the Defensive MVP one Championship year.
Since being diagnosed with ALS, Craig has been unable to continue his player involvement. ALS is a devastating and eventual fatal disease that affects nerve cells and causes the loss of muscle control. There is no cure for ALS. As such it has taken its toll on Craig ability to physically participate. Make no mistake, however, that Craig's competitive spirit and will to give back and to pay it forward are as strong as ever.
The Foundation supports initiatives within the SDAFFL that teach and improve player skills, referee training and development, foster new league membership, discover and develop new quarterbacks, and much more. The Foundation's goal is to foster league longevity, and to constantly improve the league as a whole for the benefit of our entire community.
How Can I Support The Foundation
You can support the Craig Goida SDAFFL Foundation, the league and its initiatives and Craig's legacy in its creation, with your financial donation to the Foundation by using the Donorbox website. For every dollar donated, Craig will match an equal amount up to $10,000 in this initial year. Under the supervision of the Executive Board, the Foundation will be a protected entity with all donated funds being used solely for the work of the Foundation. The league will contribute the administrative costs and responsibilities of the Foundation.
