-----------------------------------
Bobby Menges was a 2015 graduate of Garden City High School and a devoted member of the wrestling team. He was first diagnosed with cancer at the age of 5, and despite the difficulties of his illness and knowing that his life might be cut short, he devoted himself to building community and supporting others. Wrestling became a significant part of Bobby's journey, teaching him discipline, perseverance, and the strength to confront life’s hardest battles, and he inspired friends, family, and even strangers to rally together for meaningful causes.
Bobby ultimately died of cancer as a sophomore in college, and his family started the I’m Not Done Yet Foundation in his memory. The mission of I’m Not Done Yet is to support young cancer patients who are facing their illnesses at a particularly vulnerable age, and to raise funds for cancer research, fertility preservation services, peer-to-peer support, fitness, and adventure experiences for young cancer patients and survivors on Long Island and nationally.
