Futuress is a feminist platform for design politics committed to democratizing design education and amplifying marginalized voices. We develop innovative learning formats and publish original stories that challenge the design canon. 

Since launching in November 2020, we have grown from a small dream into a bubbling community with hundreds of contributors scattered throughout all corners of our planet. So far, we have welcomed over 190 fellows, organized more than 31 events, and published beyond 114 texts. All of our content is open and paywall free, and so are our monthly online events, which are closed-captioned, recorded, and later published on our website, creating an ever-growing repository of learning resources available to all! 

We’ve accomplished all that thanks to cultural funding, institutional collaborations, and a sheer amount of volunteering—a tripod that has proven unsustainable for us in the long term. We have enough funds to run Futuress until mid-2023, but beyond that, the future of Futuress is unclear, unknown, and unstable—which is why we need your support NOW!

We need an absolute minimum of 70’000 CHF to keep Futuress alive, breathing, and paywall-free until mid-2024. This would be enough to guarantee that we keep on:

• publishing at least one story per week;
• organizing at least two events per month;
• sustaining our small freelance team;
• covering all further technical and maintenance costs.

Of course, if we had more, we would do even more—we always dream high and bright! However, at the moment, our top priority is maintaining our feet on the ground and securing our immediate longevity. Every little bit helps, so please consider donating today!
