I have been enamored by the quilts of Gee's Bend Ladies since I first learned of them when I found a video about them in the middle school library I was hired to oversee.
I had the honor of meeting some of the quilting ladies during a stop in Bham at the Civil Rights Institute. Their hand quilting is inspirational.
I have my Father's grandmother's quilt. Over 100 years old.
This event has been on my bucket list for some time. 2025 is the year to fulfill my dream!

I don't remember how I first learned about Gee's Bend quilts, but it makes me feel warm and connected to the way my Great Grandmother and my Great Aunt Sammy quilted. Let's keep this tradition alive!
