I am so sorry I have updated this page in over 6 weeks. I am not going to lie this tour has been very very tough. Honestly I have taken on too much. I AM NOT COMPLAINING because this tour has changed my life.
So what has happened since my last update in September??
I have done events in Georgia, Michigan, South Carolina, North Carolina, Kansas, Texas, Florida, Arkansas, Oklahoma - I have spoken with countless different groups including GOP, GOP Women, 912, Tea Party, Constitution based, Religious groups and independent groups that are focused on CRT & School boards.
I have met a LOT of Americans who are starting to wake up and get back involved. It is amazing watch your people on the ground reawaken and re-engage. I know there is a lot of scary news out there, but there are also a lot of positive things happening and to even play a small part in that, is the honor of a life time.
I have also done countless media appearances. I have done a lot of local radio in states for the events, I spoke with the amazing Sharyl Attkisson last week and today I have been in The Blaze studios speaking with both Pat Gray & Stu Does America.
I have a couple more events this week in Texas and then 5 events next week in Texas and more media appearances… Then its time for a break….
Which leads to the biggest news of all…
On this tour I started dating a wonderful lady and last week we got engaged. She is the love of my life and honestly WAY out of my league. She is kind, sweet, funny, is very understanding of my failures and lack of experience in the dating department. She has become my best friend and we talk all day long.
Why is this big news? Because she is American and that means in 2022 I will finally achieve my American Dream after 17 years of trying… but I also get the dream girl. ONLY IN AMERICA!!!
After my Texas leg of my trip, I will travel to Oklahoma to my fiancee and spend Thanksgiving with her.
Thank you so much to everyone who donated - you have made this trip possible because everything has been so expensive my budget stopped around a week ago.
I will post another update Thanksgiving week.
If you want more updates - follow me on facebook / twitter - Freedoms Disciple.
God Bless. JD
WOW… I cannot believe my second week in America is in the books. This week was inspirational, enjoyable but also very challenging.
Monday:
My Monday started in Jesup, Georgia where I spoke with a GOP group at lunch time. It was a wonderful event until the end. I had a very eye opening conversation with a lady who was researching sexual education that was being thought in schools. It was in Jesup I learnt that a 4 year old boy is capable of 26 organisms in a 24 hour period…. WTH???? Sometimes ignorance is bliss :(
I then made the 6 hour drive back to Alabama.
Tuesday:
Tuesday started out with the fun job of LAUNDRY lol… Thank God for a dear friend who kindly explained to me which products I needed to do laundry. This is NOT a guy problem - this is an Irish problem as we don’t have the same brands lol.
I got to spend time to eat BBQ with a friend and had a great meeting that night in Roanoke, AL. Then back on the road again and drove to Huntsville, AL. Stopped at Buckees (first timer here) and WOW is it big lol…
Wednesday:
On the road again, this time to Greensboro, TN. I had the honor of being the keynote for their Reagan Day Dinner. This event was one that actually made my mother proud as I was the last speaker and the first was a sitting US Rep. We had a great exchange in the Q&A including one on SCOTUS.
This week involved a LOT of driving. Sadly I did not get to see much Greensboro, as I had to drive to Knoxville. Arrived around 1AM exhausted.
Thursday:
VERY early start as I had a breakfast meeting with Knox Co Mayor Glenn Jacobs (AKA Kane in WWE). Was refreshing to meet someone who knew the role of government and the real definition of Libertarianism. Back to the hotel to get a quick power nap and then onto Newport for an evening event. This event was super cool as it is one of the few GOP groups that’s leadership is under 40.
Friday:
Got about 4 hours sleep and on the road at 330AM as I needed to be in Springfield for a radio interview at 7AM. The interview was with my dear friend Lavern who used to work at the Blaze. Spend the morning serving homeless and poorer people at Laverns Church - refreshing to be around people who want to serve others and do it without government money. THAT is how you solve America’s problems.
Friday was Constitution Day so we held a special event in Springfield.
Saturday:
Thank God this day involved no driving… Just a lot of talking. I had the honor of delivering a full day educational day to a GOP women’s group. It went from about 845AM until 4PM. We discussed your founding principles, Why America is exceptional and also the Great Reset…
Sunday:
Church in the morning and for lunch we went to a buffet and ate crawfish for the first time… Was enjoyable but it is a LOT of work for one tiny piece of meat..
Finally got the opportunity to record my podcast about 5pm. Then back to the house and watched the football.
This week is also crazy but a lot less driving. I will be in Ga, then Michigan and then back to Georgia and Sunday is the Ryder Cup… Let’s go America!!!
I am going to provide weekly updates of my journey and some random thoughts here:
Tuesday September 7th: Finally arrived HOME in America as I landed in Houston Texas… The pure joy and relief of finally stepping foot on American soil again was amazing. (My last day here was September 22nd 2019).
Wednesday September 8th: Fly into Las Vegas - Vegas is such a weird feeling. You get off the plane and get to the baggage claim where you see groups of slot machines… Suppose thats to get the high rollers warmed up lol… Drive to St George, Utah and that drive was stunning. Worth the price of admission. Beautiful and driving between large mountains is always fun… Also this was the hottest temp I have ever been in - dash board said 113. Arrive in the hotel and recorded my show for The Blaze.
Thursday September 9th: Spend the day stressing about my event that night and part of it was crying. I have never been this nervous before. I had an long interview with Kate Dalley (https://soundcloud.com/katedalleyradio/090921-hour-3-jonathan-dunne-from-ireland-we-must-preserve-this-country-great-hour) in the afternoon. An amazing dinner with the founders of the group I was speaking with. Then onto the main event - where I spoke with a group of (around 100+) speaking why I love America. Got a standing ovation at the end that humbled me more than you know. After several amazing individual conversations went for a meet up at Wingnuts - Huge shout out to Brian, Chad & Zac who travelled to see me. You can watch the presentation here: https://rumble.com/vmgtac-reclaiming-americas-narrative-with-jonathon-dunne.html
Friday September 10th: This was a LONG travel day. Firstly drive back to Vegas and spend some time driving around. Drove down the strip (I have seen it before and its way better at night) but my mother wanted to see it. God Bless FaceTime. Then drove around and saw Rick Harrisons pawn shop - large queue outside - wonder if they got any cool things that day. Then onto the airport. Flight was delayed with weather. Landed 2 hours and to make matters worse when I got to Car rental co, they did not have a car ready for me so had to wait 30 minutes :(. Drove to Alabama and checked in at 12.30AM. Long day but thankful to be safe.
Saturday September 11th: Moving day - I could not watch the live ceremonies (for my own sanity) but watched a new documentary focused on young kids during Sept 11th and where they are now. Amazing. But how is it 20 years already????
Sunday September 12th - Long drive from Alabama to Jesup, Georgia of about 6 hours for an event Monday. Beautiful drive with such amazing scenery. Checked into a very cheap motel and was greeted by roaches… That was a surprise lol…
This week is going to be crazy… I am travelling to three states. Georgia on Monday, Alabama on Tuesday and Tennessee on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday.
Come back next week and I will share an update. Picture below is from the event in Utah.
