The Forge Initiative is an Open Innovation Tech Space that empowers people of all ages and backgrounds in engineering and technology. It's a hub of incredible learning opportunities, where you can develop skills you never imagined. Through our year-round programs and community outreach efforts, we impact people in science, technology, engineering, art, and math, creating a pipeline of tech-savvy individuals.
12 years ago, I joined The Forge Initiative and accessed opportunities that were previously out of reach. I've collaborated with numerous companies to present our hands-on demos to thousands in the Triangle area, including at Marbles Kids Museum, John Deere, IEEE, MetLife, and Cisco, among others. Navigating middle school with high anxiety and low self-confidence, The Forge Initiative provided me with invaluable opportunities to build both soft and hard skills. While challenges like public speaking were daunting, I now approach life with confidence and adaptability, knowing that every problem has a solution and that failing faster is the key to success.
Today, The Forge Initiative faces the threat of closing due to a lack of funds with their lease ending on July 12th. This organization has been a lifeline for me and countless others. If you're able, please consider donating to help keep it alive. My goal is to raise at least $1,000, though The Forge Initiative's goal is a greater $250,000. Its impact on my life and thousands of others is immeasurable. There is truly no place like it, and with your support, it can continue to inspire and empower lives.
