In 2024, Northside Farmers Market launched our own, unique food access program. With the support of a small grant, we were able to distribute NFM coupons to guests at our local food pantry, CAIN, so they could afford to come shop at market. We received a much larger grant in 2025 to greatly expand this program, allowing us to pass out 5 times as many coupons and expand to another distribution location, our local WIC office. We now call this program The Gold Program, as all coupon recipients receive gold coins at market so they can shop for the groceries they want and need. The Gold Program expands food access for those who need it most, supports the livelihood of local farmers and food producers, and fosters greater diversity and inclusion at the farmers market. In spite of our efforts, we were unable to secure funds for this program in 2026, but that will not stop us! Please consider donating to our Food Access Fund. All funds raised will go directly to expanding food access for CAIN pantry guests. A small portion of the funds raised will go to providing Spanish interpretation services at market to ensure the market is a welcoming place for all. Thank you!
