FoCo Top Dog 2022

Hi! I'm Ranger Karl.

When I'm not on ranger duty -grrruffing at anything passing by my house, being the pond lifeguard, or making sure my person gets to bed on time - you can find me giving you a soulful slow blink, breathing on my toys, enjoying the wind in my eyebrows, or tearing through the tall grass to get my ya-ya's out.

My favorite Fort Collins places to hang out are the ponds, Dixon reservoir, scruffy dog club meetups, and anywhere you can get me a birthday hamburger (Stuff'd and Big Al's so far).

You know when you see people with their dogs and think, "this makes sense"? My person and I get that a lot. They had been looking for a dog for six months and right before we met, they were denied on an application for a rescue because when asked "what are you looking for in a dog?" they listed too many qualities. The rescue was afraid that they wouldn't find a friend that is sweet; smart; independent; loyal; likes to snuggle; play with dogs, cats, and kids; and go for runs, hikes, and swims. Then, they met me and that was three years ago (yes, I actually am only three).

They thought about what to call me for a long time and though I've never met them, I was named after a both a park ranger and my person's favorite childhood neighbor, Carl, who also had a salt and pepper beard. However I will also respond to: Karl, Karly, Karlito, Karl Bear, Ranger K, Puppa, Pooper, My Sweetie, or any variation of Muffin.

Here's what people in town are saying about Ranger Karl:

Karl is a good boy and a wonderful friend and appreciates your vote! Here's how to vote:

Each dollar donated through this page* will count as one vote for Ranger Karl. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Northern Colorado Wildlife Center. This group is dedicated to opening up a fully fledged non-profit wildlife rehabilitation center to serve the Northern Colorado region, including Larimer county, Weld County, and beyond. Currently, no such facility exists in this region. If you don't have or want to give dollars, you can like or comment on Ranger Karl's instagram posts! One pup in addition to the top 15 fundraisers will move onto the in-person event through having the most comments and likes on a social media post. You can find him at tag #focotopdog #rangerkarl

*Note - you can donate directly to the focotopdog page, and we will forever appreciate you for doing so, but it will not count as a vote toward a specific dog. You need to donate through their specific page (this page) for it to count. All proceeds will still go to Northern Colorado Wildlife Center!
