Shendo the Bashful
Hi there, I'm Shendo the Jindo! I started my life in a dog meat farm in South Korea before being brought all the way to Colorado where I met my family when I was around 2 years old! My first few years of life were pretty rough, I never left my dirty kennel and didn't experience standing water until I was 2 years old. My feet were hurt from standing on metal bars for at least the whole first year of my life.
When I was 2 I was rescued by Humane Society International who brought me from South Korea, all the way to San Francisco where I got to stay at an ASPCA with a lot of other rescue dogs for a month before being brought to Animal House in Fort Collins! My mom, who was a kennel technician, was there to welcome me and my friend Ralph on day one! I spent a week in quarantine there before coming home to my family.
My sister, Maddie, helped me settle in and taught me all about yards for playing and how cozy the couch can be but I mostly love just being outside.
Since then I've been on a ton of adventures and climbed a bunch of mountains! I've made a lot of other dog friends but my sister Maddie is still my favorite friend.
7 years later, I'm still learning to trust new human friends but once I'm comfortable enough around certain people, I show my affection by gently touching my nose to them. My family calls it a #ShendoBless, whatever that means.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the Northern Colorado Wildlife Center. This group is dedicated to opening up a fully fledged non-profit wildlife rehabilitation center to serve the Northern Colorado region, including Larimer county, Weld County, and beyond. Currently, no such facility exists in this region.
