Support Findlay's Mission: Get an Evacuation Vehicle to Ukraine

Findlay Young has signed up to travel 1,318 miles over 3 days across Europe with the Driving Ukraine team to deliver an ambulance evacuation vehicle that is destined for work on the Ukrainian frontline.

Hello, and thank you for checking out my fundraiser!

Like many people, I've been shocked and appalled by the death and destruction caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. I've donated to various charities, but I always knew there was more I could do. That's why when I found about Driving Ukraine, and the work they do, I knew I had to get involved.

As an archaeologist, I drive all over the UK, every week. I've been from Rhynie to Ramsgate, literally! Getting from Point A to Point B in a large vehicle I something I know I can do well. Now I have the chance to save lives doing it.

That's where you guys come in. I can drive to Ukraine, but only you can get me there. Please, please give generously, please share this fundraiser with everyone you know, and together we can help bring some light to the darkness.

Slava Ukraini!

- Message from Findlay

In December, Findlay will form a key part of a team of proud volunteers to embark on a mission to Ukraine. 1,318 miles, 7 countries across Europe, and 3 days to Lviv, Ukraine. He will be joining forces with the Driving Ukraine team to transport vehicles that will play a crucial role in saving lives in Ukraine.

Findlay has put his hands up to join this inspiring group and need your support to make the delivery happen.

Driving Ukraine's vehicles; pickup trucks and ambulances, purchased in the UK and modified by dedicated volunteers, will be placed with essential teams in Ukraine including: Ambulance, 4x4 evacuation, first-aid responders, foreign volunteer medics, humanitarian bomb disposal, hospitals, among others.

The urgent need for assistance in Ukraine is undeniable, especially when the international community's attention is distracted. The longer this invasion persists, the more challenging it becomes for Ukraine.

The toll of this conflict is staggering, with tens of thousands of civilians killed, countless more injured, and hundreds of billions of dollars in infrastructure damage. Ukraine faces the largest displacement crisis in Europe since World War II, with 6.2 million Ukrainians forced into becoming refugees. Nearly half of Ukraine's population, 18 million people, require humanitarian aid. As the war enters its third winter, volunteer support for Ukraine is more critical than ever before.

We request your support in raising £5000 and beyond to purchase and transport Findlay's evacuation vehicle, acquired through second-hand auctions and tailored for its life-saving mission. Funds raised over our goal will go to future convoys that the Driving Ukraine team are already planning for the rest of 2024 and beyond. Anyone and everyone is welcome to get involved with us in 2024, just get in touch with us personally, or go to www.DrivingUkraine.org.

For large donations (over £1000), please contact us directly as we could love to claim Gift Aid (an extra 25p for every £1 donated) on such donations. (email drivingukraine@gmail.com, or get in touch with Findlay)

The Driving Ukraine team has already completed 34 successful missions, donating 148 vehicles and has saved countless lives in delivering these vehicles. With your help, we can continue to do just that.

We express our heartfelt gratitude for your support, both through sharing our cause and making donations. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those affected by the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Thank you for your generosity!
